Hello! My name is Dr. Poirrier (Pour-Ree-Yay) and I have been practicing veterinary medicine for over 13 years. I graduated from Louisiana State University with a bachelors degree in Animal Science and also received my DVM from LSU’s School of Veterinary Medicine.

I am a small animal veterinarian that practices preventative care, internal medicine, and soft tissue surgery. My favorite aspects of veterinary medicine are client education and preventative medicine.

I have practiced in both rural areas and high-end urban areas and focus my medicine on what’s best for the pet and within the owner’s means and comfort. My goal is to seamlessly transition into you practice and treat your patients and staff with the utmost care and respect.

I have always had a passion for animals and science starting at a very young age. During grade school I volunteered at the Audubon Zoo in New Orleans, LA. In college, I worked several jobs that centered around animal care from veterinary clinics to a pig farm and a little bit in between.

Any time that I am not working I am spending time with my family, reading, or crafting. My high-school sweetheart and myself have been married for 16 years. We love to travel and go on adventures! We have two daughters, a dog, bearded dragon, and fish.
